Fordyce Spots

FORDYCE SPOTS

Fordyce spots are white-yellow nodules of 1-3 mm in diameter, which appear in the scrotum and the penis of men and on the labia in women. Sometimes they appear in the mouth and cheeks. They occur more often in men, especially those who have oily skin. The spots can appear after puberty as sole or as multiple thronging lesions.

Fordyce spots are not contagious and can be removed quickly and efficiently using special micro-instruments. Laser therapy is not effective because the lesions originate beneath the epidermis.

Avoid squeezing the nodules! It will not eliminate them, and the risk of developing inflammation in the area is high!

Duration of treatment: 15 minutes -1 hour, depending on the size and number.

Anesthesia: local with anaesthetic cream, possibly with an oral tranquilizer.

After surgery

  • You can immediately return to your activities
  • The procedure does not leave any scars.
