Despoina Kakagia was born in Alexandroupolis, Greece, and is a Full Professor in Plastic Surgery with extensive clinical and international educational experience.
She graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School and then specialized in Plastic Aesthetics and Reconstructive Surgery in centers in Greece, such as the Athens General State Hospital “George Gennimatas” and abroad, such as the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Professor Kakagia received further training and obtained specialization degrees at prominent centers abroad such as the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Norwich and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, UK, the Institut de Chirurgie Plastique CHU Sart Tilman del Universite de Liege-, Liege, Belgium and the Center of Excellence in Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery and Burn Center, RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
This long-term further training has resulted in the provision of the highest quality services in both Cosmetic Surgery and Trauma, Burn and Tumor Surgery.
Professor Despoina Kakagia is a highly experienced and respected plastic surgeon and academic, as reflected, among other things, in the many international conferences in which she participates as an invited speaker, as well as in her numerous published scientific and clinical papers in prominent international medical publications, journals and books. She is also a member of the most important national and international scientific societies and associations.
